Julie McDowall

A journalist who writes about nuclear history for newspapers such as The Times and the Guardian, McDowall also reviews and hosts her own podcast on the preparations for nuclear conflict, 'The Atomic Hobo'. Her debut — Attack Warning Red!: How Britain Prepared for Nuclear War — was published by Bodley Head in 2023; it was BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week.
