Warona Jolomba was born in Botswana and raised in the West Midlands, UK. She has been writing fiction since adolescence, when her first written novel was shortlisted for Sony’s Young Movellist Award in 2013 (judged by Malorie Blackman). She studied Law at the University of Kent, Hong Kong University and King’s College London, before pivoting to a Creative Writing PhD at Brunel. More recent achievements include making the longlist of Penguin’s WriteNow Scheme in 2020. She resides in London and works as a legal analyst. THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS is her debut novel.
