William Shawcross

William Shawcross is an internationally renowned writer and broadcaster. Educated at Eton and University College Oxford he has, since then, travelled widely, written for newspapers and journals around the world, and published ten books including Dubeck (1970), SIDSHOW: Kissinger, Nixon and The Destruction of Cambodia (1979), The Shah's Last Ride (1989), Deliver Us From Evil: Warlords and Peacekeepers in a World of Endless Conflict (2001) and Allies (2003). In 2002, his BBC Television series and book Queen and Country celebrated the Queen's Golden Jubilee and examined the changing face of Britain during her reign.

He is the author of The Official Biography of The Queen Mother, which was published by Macmillan in September 2009 (A A Knopf in the US and HarperCollins in Canada) and was a worldwide bestseller.
