Saabira Chaudhuri

Saabira Chaudhuri is a business journalist with nearly two decades of experience covering the world's largest companies across consumer goods and banking, as well as reporting on the challenges and opportunities of growth in emerging markets. She spent 12 years as a staff reporter for the Wall Street Journal in London and New York, having previously worked at Dow Jones Newswires, Forbes, Fast Company and Mint.

Her first book - CONSUMED: How Big Brands Got Us Hooked on Plastic (Bonnier, 2025) - is a narrative non-fiction investigation of the global plastics crisis through a corporate lens, lifting the lid on why decades of promised "solutions" by the world's biggest consumer goods companies have failed and why they will continue to fail unless we rewrite the rules by which business is done. CONSUMED has been long-listed for the FT and Schroders Business Book of the Year 2025 award and shortlisted for SABEW's 2025 Best in Business Book Awards.
