Sarah-Jayne Blakemore
Sarah-Jayne Blakemore was born in 1974. She is a Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL. She is Leader of the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Group and Deputy Director of the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience. In 2014 she was named by the Sunday Times as one of the 100 people who will shape the 21st century, and advises the British Government and the Upper Tribunals on the policy and legislation toward young people. Her TED talk on the subject of her research has had millions of views. She was awarded the Rosalind Franklin Award in 2013 and the Royal Society Prize in 2018 for her first solo book Inventing Ourselves: The Secret Life of the Teenage Brain.
