Tim Blackburn
Tim Blackburn is a scientist with thirty years of experience studying questions about the distribution, abundance and diversity of species in ecological assemblages. He is currently Professor of Invasion Biology at University College London, where his research focusses on alien species. He is a prolific writer, publishing more than 300 scientific papers, co-authoring two academic monographs, and also writing about his work for wider audiences. Most of Tim's research has been on his first love, birds, but he has recently developed an obsession with moths. His first book — The Jewel Box: How Moths Illuminate Nature’s Hidden Rules — was published by W&N in 2023.
