Birdgirl by Mya-Rose Craig longlisted for the James Cropper Wainwright Prize 2023

Birdgirl by Mya-Rose Craig is longlisted for the 2023 James Cropper Wainwright Prize in the Writing on Conversation category.

The judges write: "Twenty-one-year-old British-Bangladeshi birder, environmentalist and activist Mya-Rose Craig is an international force. In her moving memoir, Birdgirl, she chronicles her mother’s struggle with mental illness and how her family used birds to cope, and shares her passion for social justice and fierce dedication to preserving our planet."

Birdgirl was published on June 30, 2022 by Jonathan Cape.
